Would you like to try toy-making. Are you itching to make a soft toy for a new member of the family or would you like to create a memory bear from baby clothes or from the familiar clothes of a departed loved one? In this 5 1/2 hour workshop we’ll use a super-easy pattern to create a cuddly bear that any child will love. While the pattern, safety toy eyes, and stuffing are included in the workshop fee, I have not included any fabric. This is because the bear can be made with almost anything. You could choose our own soft and cuddly faux fur, or you could modify the pattern slightly to use a variety of dress fabrics to celebrate or commemorate a loved one. You’ll need about 0.5 x 1.1m fabric in total.
Toy patterns generally have smaller seam allowances than dress patterns and accuracy is essential in order to maintain the original shape of the bear. The pattern is easy to sew, but I suggest that participants should have machine experience beyond that of a complete beginner.
